Members of the French National Assembly visit UFAZ

The delegation led by head of the France-Azerbaijan Friendship Group at the National Assembly of the French Republic Pierre-Alain Raphan visited on November 2 the Azerbaijani-French University (UFAZ) functioning under Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU). After touring the new building of UFAZ, the guests became acquainted with the education process, lecture rooms, laboratories and met with the academic staff members and students.

Then, ASOIU Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli met with the French delegation. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to France Rahman Mustafayev, UFAZ Executive Director Vazeh Asgarov, General Secretary Charlotte Payen and ASOIU representatives.

Expressing gratitude to the French side for coming to UFAZ, Rector Mustafa Babanli said the visit of French officials to the university increases the enthusiasm of students. Prof M. Babanli stressed that the UFAZ project is in the focus of attention all over the world, adding that the work is underway to take ASOIU to this level in the immediate future. Noting that the Ministry of Education, French Embassy in Azerbaijan and the University of Strasbourg attach great importance to UFAZ, Rector M. Babanli expressed his confidence that the university will develop further by contributing to both sides in the future.

Head of the France-Azerbaijan Friendship Group at the National Assembly of the French Republic Pierre-Alain Raphan said he is greatly honored to visit UFAZ and satisfied with the conditions created here. Speaking about the significance of such projects, P. Raphan noted that UFAZ students will provide a boost to the strengthening of relations between Azerbaijan and France and development of both countries.
