Rector of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), Professor Mustafa Babanli took part in the Annual Caspian Technical Conference and Exhibition of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), held in Baku on November 1-3. The three-day-long exhibition and conference included panel discussions on Modernization, Localization and Collaboration. Delivering a speech at the panel session on Collaboration, Rector of ASOIU, Professor M. Babanli congratulated the attendees on marking the 20th anniversary of SPE’s Azerbaijan section. Rector M. Babanli said Azerbaijan has rich experience in training of petroleum engineering specialists, and Azerbaijani experts successfully specialize in the oil sector in many parts of the world. Highlighting the significance of training the personnel, meeting the requirements of oil companies at the time of the modern technical and technological development, Rector, Professor M. Babanli emphasized the importance of cooperation with companies in preparation of petroleum engineering specialists. Rector Mustafa Babanli stated the close cooperation of ASOIU with a French company Total as an example and informed the participants about the Azerbaijani-French University (UFAZ), which began to operate under ASOIU with the initiative of the Azerbaijani and French presidents. Naming UFAZ a unique project in the field of education, Rector M. Babanli stressed that the training is conducted based on the training program of the University of Strasbourg and even surpasses it by some parameters, adding that soon it is planned to take the training program of ASOIU to the same level.
