On November 8 Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held a meeting with Eugene Chulkov, professor of the Donostia International Physics Center and the University of the Basque Country (Spain). The meeting was attended by Rector of ASOIU, Professor Mustafa Babanli, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Muhammad Babanli, academic staff members and students of the university.
Expressing his satisfaction with seeing the guest at the university, Rector of ASOIU, Prof M. Babanli said such type of meetings play a crucial role in the development of bilateral relations. Informing E. Chulkov about the activities aimed at developing the scientific potential of the university, Rector M. Babanli noted his belief that ASOIU will not only operate as an educational institution but also as a large scientific center in the future. Rector M. Babanli shared with E. Chulkov the development of the material and technical base of laboratories, daily internship programs, matching of the graduate thesis topics with the requirements of industrial enterprises and other issues.
Thanking Rector, Prof M. Babanli and the university management for the warm welcome, Eugene Chulkov provided information on the Donostia International Physics Center and the University of the Basque Country and spoke about the work that can be accomplished in the field of science together with ASOIU.
Delivering a speech at the event, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Muhammad Babanli said the cooperation with the Donostia International Physics Center and the University of the Basque Country can contribute to Azerbaijani science.
At the end of the meeting, the academic staff members held discussions regarding the development of bilateral cooperation.
Notably, Eugene Chulkov is the author of over 700 scientific publications, including more than 400 scholarly articles. The Donostia International Physics Center, which he represents coordinates joint research of dozens of scientific-research laboratories on solid-state and functional materials physics.
