The Academic Board of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held its next meeting on January 31. Before passing to the issues on the agenda, Rector of ASOIU, Professor Mustafa Babanli congratulated Professor Eldar Shahbazov on his 70th anniversary and Professor Ali Nazim Mammadtaghizade on his 80th anniversary, wishing them success in their life and future endeavors.

ASOIU Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli informed the Board members about the issues on the agenda. Then, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov provided extensive information for the Academic Board members on the course of the winter examination session. Director of ASOIU’s Science Center, Ph.D. in Chemistry Gahraman Hasanov delivered a report about the activities of the center. Dean of the Faculty of Oil Mechanical Engineering, Associate Professor Ali Hikmat Ahmadov made a yearly report at the meeting of the Academic Board.

Suggestions on replacing existing optional subjects for vocational training in Bachelor’s and Master’s levels with news ones, establishment of an HPC center, admission exams for Ph.D., status of education in English and other issues were also discussed at the meeting.
