ASOIU student chosen for “Volunteer” Student Bursary Program

According to the State Program “Azerbaijani youth in 2017-2021”, the “Volunteer” Student Bursary Program competition held to show public support to the wider promotion of volunteering among youth has come to a close. 58 applications have been submitted to the competition which kicked off in October 2017.

The budget of the “Volunteer” Student Bursary Program was received from the sale of the personal development book for youth “Gəncsən? Başla!” (Are you young? Start!) written by Associate Professor Nadir Adilov and published with the reference of the Academic Board of Azerbaijan University and at the initiative of the author.

The total amount of the bursary fund makes 3000 AZN. The submitted applications were evaluated by a commission and it was agreed to grant a one-time bursary worth 500 AZN to two student-volunteers. In addition, it was agreed to allocate a 100 AZN monetary award for 20 student-volunteers to support the stimulation of volunteering. 

Sabina Karimli, a student of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, is among the winners as well. She has volunteered in Islamic Games, Baku City Circuit Operations Company (BCC) – Formula 1, ASAN Service, Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations Union, “Bir” Student-Volunteer Program, SOCAR Department of Labor Standards.

The bursaries will be granted to student-volunteers on February 8 at the ceremony to be held at YARAT Modern Art Space.
