On February 22 Rector of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), Professor Mustafa Babanli held a meeting with the delegation of METAK company.
Providing comprehensive information on the university, ASOIU Rector, Professor Babanli touched upon the significance of enhancing relations with businesses that work with up-to-date technical equipment at the time when the priority is given to the development of human capital. Rector Babanli said a university degree is not sufficient for the motivation of students, gaining practical skills and getting trained as a highly qualified specialist. He noted the significance of implementing joint work with businesses and conducting daily internships.
Alik Karimov, the founder of METAK company, said his company is always ready to cooperate with ASOIU and provided widespread information on the business he represents. Saying the company currently specializes in manufacturing and retail of pipelines, Karimov noted the demand for specialists able to work with up-to-date programs and stressed the importance of developing a joint action plan to prevent workforce deficit.
The sides then discussed startup projects and ways to take them to the world market. Event participants visited ASOIU “eazi START” Startup and Innovation Center and familiarized themselves with students’ startup ideas and projects realized. The guests also visited the Department of Electrical Engineering and became acquainted with alternative energy sources (solar panels) set up in the university.
