On April 3 Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held an event dedicated to Baku’s bid to host the World Expo exhibition of the Bureau of International Exhibitions in 2025.
The event was attended by ASOIU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Associate Professor Ata Babayev, Director of Division of Application of International Standards at the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan Maryam Jafarzade, Deputy Head of Employment and Demography Office at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rana Abdullayeva, Sector Director of the Ministry of Education, expert of the Expo education theme Jasarat Valehov and students.
Opening the event, Associate Professor Babayev passed the greetings of Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli to the attendees. Stressing that our country has hosted a number of large-scale events at a high level, Associate Professor Babayev said this is the result of the purposeful activities and consecutive efforts of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva.
Delivering a speech on “Expo Project, Future of Healthcare”, Director of Division of Application of International Standards at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Maryam Jafarzade spoke about the international importance of the World Expo 2025 and its objectives of being held in our country. Showing a video footage about the Expo 2025 Baku project, Jafarzade underlined that the World Expo 2025 is a project which provides international support and opportunities, saying that besides Azerbaijan, Russia and Japan are also candidates to host the World Expo 2025.
Making a presentation on “Future of Employment”, Deputy Head of Employment and Demography Office at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population Rana Abdullayeva talked about the main discussion topics of national dialogues in the International Labour Organization member-countries, the current situation on the labour market and the future prospective areas of employment. She also provided detailed information on challenges in front of the Azerbaijani economy in the context of effects of demography and technology.
Speaking of “Future of Education”, Sector Director of the Ministry of Education Jasarat Valehov, appraised Azerbaijan’s proposal to be the host under the slogan “Developing Human Capital, Building a Better Future” as high value to human capital and talked about technological trends that will change the world until 2025.
At the end of the event, attendees received answers to all their questions.
