9th graders of the secondary school No. 97 in Surakhani district made a field trip to Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) on April 18.
Schoolchildren started their tour from the History Museum of ASOIU and viewed the historical displays about the university. ASOIU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Associate Professor Ata Babayev welcomed the pupils on behalf of Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli and provided comprehensive information on the university’s history, its activities in different periods, honorary alumni, taught programs.
Visiting the Heydar Aliyev lecture hall, they were informed on the rich heritage of the national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Pupils also visited the Museum of Mineralogy and familiarized themselves with various mineral species gathered in the museum. Director of the Museum, Associate Professor Aghamehdi Aghayev informed the secondary school students on the names of minerals, their chemical content, and deposits where they were found.
Then schoolchildren had an introductory tour to the laboratories of the Faculty of Chemical Technology.
