ASOIU and Kharazmi University of Iran sign cooperation contract

On April 20 Rector of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), Professor Mustafa Babanli met with the delegation headed by Dr. Abdolrahim Navehebrahim, chancellor of Kharazmi University (Islamic Republic of Iran) who was in Azerbaijan to attend the Conference of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) titled “Globalization and New Dimensions in Higher Education”.  

Expressing satisfaction with seeing the guests at the university, Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli provided information on the university’s history, training process, faculties, international relations, startup projects, foreign students and taught programs. Informing the Iranian delegation of the Azerbaijani-French University (UFAZ) functioning under ASOIU, Rector Mustafa Babanli said UFAZ students will obtain two diplomas (University of Strasbourg and ASOIU) upon graduation. Rector Babanli also mentioned that foreign professors are invited to ASOIU as part of the works being done to improve the quality of teaching.

Chancellor of Kharazmi University Dr. Abdolrahim Navehebrahim thanked Rector, Prof Mustafa Babanli for the warm welcome and informed the attendees of the university he represents. Saying that Kharazmi University is one of the oldest higher education institutions in Iran, Navehebrahim talked about its taught programs, works being done in the scientific area, projects and so on. Navehebrahim noted that the cooperation to be established with ASOIU in different directions will greatly contribute to both sides. 

Asghar Farsi, cultural attaché of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Azerbaijan, said, over the past years, the Azerbaijan-Iran relations have strengthened in the field of education just like in all areas and noted that they will fulfill their tasks to develop the cooperation between the two universities.

A cooperation contract was then signed between the universities. Memorable gifts were presented at the end of the meeting.
