Alessia Maggi, visiting professor of seismology from the University of Strasbourg (France), is teaching Geophysics to the students of the Azerbaijani-French University (UFAZ) under Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).  

The French professor Alessia Maggi has also been actively involved in the process of establishing ties with heads of some companies to provide internship opportunities for students besides education and has held a number of meetings. The French professor visited ASOIU’s labs and the Museum of Mineralogy. The guest said she was content with the training at the university and students’ knowledge and skills. She also stressed that despite it is a new project, UFAZ delivers an excellent education.

“One of the aspects of students that I like the most is they ask a lot of questions. This means that they are very motivated about learning and improving their knowledge. As a teacher, it makes me very happy to see that they want to learn from me.” - Maggi said.

Notably, Professor Maggi will deliver lectures at UFAZ on geophysics and seismology from April 30 to May 5.
