The awarding ceremony of scientists honored with silver medal named after outstanding scientist, Academician Azad Mirzajanzade was held at the Faculty of Oil Mechanical Engineering of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) on May 22.

The event was attended by Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RANS), Ph.D. in Technical Sciences Azizaga Shahverdiyev, Scientific Secretary of the Azerbaijan Scientific Center of RANS, Ph.D. in Technical Sciences Eldar Abbasov and Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan Scientific Center of RANS, corresponding member of ANAS, Ph.D. in Technical Sciences Geylani Panahov, as well as ASOIU academic staff members.  

Event participants appraised Academician Azad Mirzajanzade’s special merits in the field of science and education, spoke about his role in the development of oil industry, enrichment of the oil field in Azerbaijan.

Then Professor and Advisor of ASOIU’s Department of Machine Building and Materials Science Jahid Karimov and Professor of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering Tofig Samadov were awarded silver medal named after Azad Mirzajanzade.

Notably, creating a medal named after Azad Mirzajanzade, world-renowned scientist, real member of ANAS, RANS, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Ukrainian Oil and Gas Academy, was decided by the Russian Academy of Sciences.
