The presentation of the Laser Center was held at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) on June 6. The ceremony was attended by Rector of ASOIU, Professor Mustafa Babanli, heads of local and foreign companies, academic staff members of the university, as well as media.

Rector of ASOIU, Professor Mustafa Babanli spoke about the work accomplished at the Laser Center and gave brief information about laser-nozzle robots, their working principles and functions. Rector Mustafa Babanli said laser nozzles, considered for the reconstruction of obliterated surfaces, will be used in the oil and light industry, as well as for the reconstruction of equipment in agriculture.

Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli reminded that the Laser Center will operate as an education center at the initial stage to give students knowledge in this field. He highlighted that in order to provide specialist training, they have included “Recycling and Reconstruction Technology” discipline from 2018, and 15 specialists have been prepared up to now.

Director of the Laser Center, Doctor of Technical Sciences Khudaverdi Karimov made a presentation on the activities of the Center. At the presentation titled “Surface treatment of parts with laser emission (Coating and reinforcement)”, Khudaverdi Karimov informed about the principle, advantages of laser coating, principles of reinforcement and so on.

Work process at the Laser Center was then demonstrated live through the monitor.

Discussions with company heads were held after the official part of the event.

Notably, ASOIU Laser Center was opened in June 2017. Along with operating as an education center, after obtaining necessary theoretical knowledge, the Center will carry out the repair and reconstruction of equipment used in various sectors of economy and industry, as well as produce laser nozzles.
