On September 29, completed the 90th anniversary of the eminent Azerbaijani scientist, real member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Honored Scientist and Technician, Professor of Technical Sciences, Professor Azad Mirzechanzade. In connection with this, the staff of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) visited the grave of the scientist in the Alley of Honor. Among the visitors were Rector of ASOIU, Professor Mustafa Babanli, professor staff of the university, as well as family members, colleagues, students and other relatives of Academician Azad Mirzechanzade. Flowers were laid at the grave of the eminent scientist and memories about him were remembered.

Azad Khalil Mirzechanzade was born on September 29, 1928, in Baku. In 1944-1949 he studied at the oil-mining faculty of  Azerbaijan Industrial Institute (present ASOIU)  and received a degree in mining engineer. In 1951, he defended his Candidate's Degree in Technical Sciences and doctoral dissertations in 1957. In 1959 the scientist got a degree of the professor, in 1962 he was appointed a correspondent member,  and in 1968 he became a real member of ANAS.

 

Azad Mirzacanzade died at the age of 78 in 2006.
