Open Day held at ASOIU

 The open day was held at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) on October 6. 

The event was attended by Rector of ASOIU Professor Mustafa Babanli, university’s academic staff members, students, and parents. Rector, Prof M. Babanli greeted the attendants and provided information on admission indicators in 2018-2019 academic year and recently conducted reforms.

Speaking about both quantitative and qualitative indicators of admission in 2018/2019 academic year have reached record levels in ASOIU, Professor M. Babanli noted that including UFAZ overall 2866 students were admitted to Bachelor's degree.

He noted that along with the student enrollment, the average score also increased and 392 out of 880 students gained more than 600 points in group 1 across the country selected ASOIU.

Rector M. Babanli also noted that 1082 out of 2312 students gained more than 500 points were admitted to ASOIU. Noting that the providing alumnus and Master's degree students with a job is one of the most important tasks of the university, Rector M. Babanli said that bilateral agreements with nearly 100 enterprises are signed in this direction and stressed the significance of the "Alumni Career" exhibitions throughout the year.

Noting that international cooperation and student exchange is one of the priorities of the university, Rector M. Babanli said that it is considered to enhance the study in English. Saying that within the framework of international cooperation 26 foreign professors were involved to the university through UFAZ, the rector noted that this number will be reached to 30 from the next year. Rector Mustafa Babanli also spoke about the renewal of curriculum, involving of foreign professors to the teaching, further development of international cooperation, importance of electronic university, increase of number of scientific works, the activity of Laser Center, 2 scientific research laboratories under the university, preparation of new technical - technological programs, exams and other issues. According to the results of the spring session, the groups with the highest results in the courses were awarded with 1000 AZN. In the end, the students received answers to their questions.
