On October 11, a meeting was held with the General Director of "Weir Oil and Gas" company Altug Bilgic and Human Resources Manager Nigar Asadova at the Faculty of Oil Mechanical Engineering of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ADNSU). Dean of the Faculty of Oil Mechanical Engineering, Associate Professor Ali Hikmat Ahmadov, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Oil Mechanical Engineering Tahir Suleymanov, Head of the Department of Mechanics, Professor Alasgar Aliyev, head of the Department of Oil and Gas Production Jamaladdin Aslanov, head of the Department of Machine Building and Materials Science, Associate Professor Tahir Jabbarov attended the meeting.
Providing information about the reforms conducted at the University Associate Professor Ali Hikmat Akhmedov spoke about the practical internship, daily internship programs organized within the framework of ASOIU's cooperation with more than 100 companies. Discussions were held on students' internship at “Weir Oil and Gas” company, student recruitment as well as conducting laboratory and training classes in the company.
In the end, the sides discussed prospects for the development of joint cooperation.
“The Weir Group” with its over 150 years history is engaged in the production and service of oil and gas equipment for the oil and gas industry. The large production company of “Weir Oil and Gas” provided with innovative equipment which started to operate since 2008 as an official representative of the organization in Azerbaijan was launched in 2015. Currently, Weir Oil and Gas” company providing 80% of the local market's demand is represented in the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz projects.
