ASOIU holds an event dedicated to Constitution Day

On November 12 Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held an event dedicated to the Constitution Day, which is celebrated on November 12.
The event which attended by vice-rectors, teaching staff and students started with the National Anthem of Azerbaijan Republic.  
 
Making an opening speech at the event, Vice-Rector for educational affairs, Associate Professor Ata Babayev congratulated participants on the occasion of the Constitution Day and spoke about the importance of the Constitution. ASOIU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov talked about the history of creating the Constitution and the historical reasons of its creation.
 
Noting that the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan was adopted on November 12, 1995, ASOIU Vice-Rector Gasim Mammadov stressed that the Constitution, which has a higher legal force, is the fourth Constitution of Azerbaijan. Talking about the key role of the constitution in the socio-political life, Head of the ASOIU's Social Studies Department, Professor Jamal Mustafayev, spoke about the significant role of the supreme legislation document in the development of our state, as well as the additions and amendments to the Constitution.
 
 Head of the Department of the Azerbaijani language, Associate Professor Adalat Abbasov characterized November 12 as one of the brightest days in the history of Azerbaijan and emphasized the importance of this day. Noting the position and significance of the Azerbaijani language in the Constitution, Associate Professor A. Abbasov also spoke about the history of adopting the law on the state language.
