ASOIU's student wins in international sport competition

Alish Nazarov, a 3rd-year student of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) studying on ZU program, won the V Weightlifting Championship of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation which was held in the capital of Egypt, Cairo.
 
In the competition where more than 50 countries participated for the license of the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympic Games, our athlete, who competed in a 102kg weight class, held second place with 309 kg (142 + 167) results in snatch and clean and jerk.
 
ASOIU's student will take part in the European championship which will be held in Batumi, Georgia recently.
 
Notably, A. Nazarov is a sports master of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 4-time Azerbaijani champion and owner of the Azerbaijani Cup.
