ASOIU Student clinches Gold Medal at World Championship once again

Veli Israfilov, a swimmer on the national team representing the National Paralympic Committee and a student of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), has won a gold medal at the World Championship held in the city of Manchester, England. The Paralympic champion athlete clinched the top spot at a remarkable 1:07.08 seconds in the 100-meter breaststroke event. With this achievement, Veli Israfilov has secured a qualification for the 17th Summer Paralympic Games in Paris 2024.

Notably, Veli Israfilov is a fourth-year student at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), pursuing studies in Electrical Power Engineering at the Power Engineering Faculty. He was a Children's Paralympic Movement member and embarked on his professional career there. In addition to his education, he places particular emphasis on sports. Leading up to his most recent outstanding success, he has triumphed in numerous international competitions, including being crowned a world champion.
