On December 12 the Azerbaijani-French University (UFAZ) functioning under Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University held an event in memory of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev. After observing a minute of silence to honor the memory of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, UFAZ Executive Director Vazeh Asgarov informed the attendees about the life and activity of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. He noted that Azerbaijan was taking the last places among USSR republics, but once Heydar Aliyev was brought to leadership, our country’s economic power increased, turning Azerbaijan into one of the leading republics of the former Soviet Union.
UFAZ Executive Director Vazeh Asgarov said when Heydar Aliyev returned to power by the public insistence in 1993, Azerbaijan was facing with civil war, and that as a result of the great leader’s far-sighted policy our country was saved from the danger of being separated. Informing that thanks to the economic projects realized by the great leader’s will and initiative in the following years, Azerbaijan’s development trend became irreversible, Vazeh Asgarov emphasized that Heydar Aliyev is the architect of modern Azerbaijan. He stressed that the political course of the great leader is successfully being continued, and our country achieves bigger success under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Vazeh Asgarov noted that the state attaches particular care to the development of education in Azerbaijan and to the point that the younger generation assimilates modern knowledge. He added that the creation of the Azerbaijani-French University under ASOIU is a vivid example of this care and attention.
