On April 16, a meeting of the Scientific Committee was held at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).
At the beginning of the meeting, ASOIU Rector, Associate Professor Rufat Azizov, presented the agenda to the Committee members, and the agenda was approved.
Chaired by Rector Azizov, the meeting focused on the university’s action plan, upcoming tasks, future prospects, and specific strategic goals.
ASOIU’s Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov, delivered a presentation on the organization of the examination process for the spring semester of the 2024-2025 academic year. He noted that the current arrangements for the academic process and exam preparations are satisfactory. According to the plan, exam questions must be uploaded to the LMS electronic education system by the lecturer of the subject at least one month before the start of the exam session. It was also emphasized that the exams will include both written and oral components, with 10-15% of the exams initially planned. Additionally, the presentation topics assigned as the fifth question in the exam tickets will be limited to a maximum of ten, regardless of the number of students in the academic group.
In line with a newly adopted decision of the Scientific Committee, students who violate the “Rules for the Organization and Conduct of Examinations” will be dismissed from the exam room but will be allowed to retake the exam upon payment of 25% of the subject’s credit cost. It was also underlined that ensuring the objective assessment of students' knowledge and competencies will continue to be a priority throughout the teaching and examination process.
ASOIU’s Vice-Rector for Strategic Affairs, Associate Professor Vazeh Askarov, provided detailed information on the university’s 2026-2030 Strategic Development Plan, and the proposed initiatives were reviewed and discussed.
