The Faculty of Oil and Gas Engineering is one of the leading and historically rich structural units of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University. The training of engineering personnel at the faculty began in 1920, in the early years of the university’s establishment, and since then thousands of highly qualified specialists who play an important role in the development of the country’s oil and gas industry have been trained.
During its activity, the faculty has trained more than 27,000 oil engineers, over 7,000 bachelors, and nearly 1,500 masters. The faculty continues to operate as one of the main academic centers that prepares professional, competitive, and innovative-minded personnel in engineering fields.
Education at the faculty covers modern specialties related to the oil and gas industry and is aimed at developing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Experimental study of hydraulic properties of liquid and gas flows, pressure losses in pipelines, and flow regimes
Corrosion Protection of Oil and Gas Equipment Laboratory
Study of corrosion processes, protection methods, and inhibitor efficiency
Oil Extraction Laboratory
Study of hydrocarbon extraction methods and hydrodynamic processes in lifting pipes, analysis of operational parameters
Oil Recovery Process Modeling Laboratory
Simulation and modeling of reservoir processes using computer programs
Drilling Fluids Technology Laboratory
Study of drilling fluids, their properties, and optimization for different geological conditions

Professor Elman Iskandarov’s research focuses on oil and gas collection, transportation, storage, and pipeline systems. His work includes multiphase flow dynamics, phase transformations, corrosion, erosion, and hydrate formation.
He is the author of:

12 textbooks and teaching materials
200+ scientific publications
More than 30 of his works are indexed in international databases (Scopus, Web of Science).
