In the early years, it functioned as a department within the Faculty of “Oil Industry,” and since 1930 it has operated as an independent Faculty of “Oil Mechanics.” The faculty is one of the main academic centers that trains professional and innovative-minded personnel in engineering fields in accordance with the country’s development priorities and labor market demands.

Education Levels
The faculty provides education at three levels:

The “Nanomaterials and Nanotechnologies” Research Laboratory conducts research on synthesis, characterization, analytical chemistry, and physicochemical analysis using modern equipment.
Scientific Activity
Academic staff participate in research projects funded by national and international grants (Science Fund of Azerbaijan, TÜBİTAK).
They publish in high-impact journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science (Q1–Q4).
Their H-index ranges between 3–11.
