ASOIU holds the next "Focus Group Discussion" within the framework of the "Unilab"

On February 26 the next “Focus Group Discussion” within the framework of the “UniLab” was held with the partner companies of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).

The online discussion attended by the private and state enterprises cooperating with ASOIU as “Azergold” CJSC, “Azerishig” OJSC, “Omur” Hospital, “Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC, CBM Engineering, “Azerenergy” OJSC, “Baku Landscaping Service” LLC, “Biological Medicine” clinic featured discussion on enterprises, their areas of activity, cooperation, as well as internship opportunities of enterprises, involvement of students and graduates in practical internship, as well as staff training in accordance with the requirements of the labor market.

Opening the conference, ASOIU's deputy Vice-Rector for International Relations Ulviya Abbasova greeted the participants and provided them information about the purpose and main directions of the project.

Speaking about the cooperation with ASOIU, Valid Aliyev, Chief Specialist for Human Resources of Azergold CJSC, made a presentation on the internship programs and stressed the importance of working with universities to help students to acquire practical skills.

Turan Badalov, a specialist of the Human Resources Department of Azerenergy OJSC, spoke about the existing agreement with the university to involve students in internship programs, as well as new job opportunities created for graduates.

Making a presentation on the internship programs, Dilbar Khalilova, a leading specialist of the Career Management Department of Azerbaijan Railways, noted that the main goal is to familiarize young people with new technologies in the work process, to involve them in scientific-research and to instill them other communication skills.

Representatives of other companies also made a speech about the existing cooperation with universities, the importance of joint work regarding the internship, as well as the requirements of the modern labor market, the experience and job opportunities created for students and graduates.

Notably, within the framework of the "Erasmus + KA2" program funded by European Union (EU) ASOIU has joined Unilab project "Market in the 21st Century: A Step Forward in Work-based Placements" on January 1, 2020. The main goal of the UniLab (University - Labor Market) project is to contribute to the modernization of the higher education sector in three partner countries - Azerbaijan, Belarus and Russia.
