SDGs at ASOIU

SDG 2— Zero Hunger — calls for ending hunger, achieving food security, improving nutrition, and promoting sustainable agriculture. At Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), this goal is interpreted through the lens of student well-being, campus food sustainability, and national contribution to food system innovation. ASOIU acknowledges that hunger and malnutrition are barriers to academic success and social development. Therefore, the university prioritizes nutritional support, food accessibility, and awareness programs that ensure every student and staff member has access to affordable, safe, and nutritious food. The university’s commitment to no student left hungry underpins a range of practical actions, such as:

  • Affordable campus canteens and subsidized meal plans for students from low-income families;
  • Food voucher programs and emergency meal support coordinated through the Student Affairs Department and SDG Office;
  • Awareness campaigns on healthy and sustainable eating, such as the Healthy Life Initiative and Plastic-Free Week events;
  • Partnerships with local food suppliers that emphasize sustainable sourcing and food safety standards.
