On March 14-19, meetings with partner universities were held at the University of Lille in France within the framework of the UniLab project with the participation of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).
At the meeting that was held with the participation of partner universities' representatives from Austria, Spain, the UK and other countries, ASOIU was represented by Ulviya Abbasova, Deputy Vice-Rector for International Relations of ASOIU, Leyla Nagiyeva, Head of the International Projects Sector of the International Cooperation Department, and Gunel Tagiyeva, Public Relations Manager of the Public Relations and Marketing Department.
During the 4-day meeting, the parties discussed the work done within the framework of the UniLab project, upcoming issues, and the ongoing work on the project. They also exchanged views on expanding relations with partner companies and talked about partner universities' internship opportunities in companies and the individual experience of career centres.
There was also a presentation on the UniLab portal during the meeting, created by the University of Krems, Austria. The participants have explained the principle of operation, the importance and the possibilities of using the portal. The presentation also noted the importance of the new portal for partner universities, companies and students, provided information on key features and benefits and listened to participants' suggestions. Further, partners made presentations on "Academic and Scientific Development" and "Student Portal" at the meeting. In conclusion, the opportunities for cooperation between universities and partner companies and the importance of joint training and exercises were noted. They also touched upon the shortcomings in the issue of attracting students and graduates of some partner universities to internships and employment in companies, exchanged views on overcoming existing problems.
In addition, the participants visited the laboratories, libraries and auditoriums of the University of Lille, got acquainted with the Scientific Center for Artificial Intelligence and High Technologies and other research centres.
Notably, within the framework of the "Erasmus + KA2" program funded by the European Union (EU), ASOIU has joined the Unilab project "Market in the 21st Century: A Step Forward in Work-based Placements" on January 1, 2020.
