ASOIU hosts forum on “Healthy Food - Realities and Prospects”

On May 26, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) has been hosted a forum entitled “Healthy Food - Realities and Prospects” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

At the forum organised by the Organic Substances and Technology of High-Molecular Compounds Department of ASOIU, participants laid a wreath at the bust of national leader Heydar Aliyev and commemorated his memory with deep respect. 

The forum commenced with the rendition of the National Anthem, followed by a welcoming address by Professor Mustafa Babanli, the Rector of ASOIU. He acknowledged the series of commemorative events organised by the University in honour of the 100th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev and emphasised that this forum stood as another momentous occasion dedicated to the legacy of the esteemed leader. Highlighting the remarkable contributions to the food industry and advancements in the agricultural sector under Heydar Aliyev’s leadership, Mustafa Babanli, the rector, underscored that, akin to various other domains, the progress of the agrarian industry and the establishment of industrial enterprises are inextricably linked to the enduring legacy of the Great Leader.

Prof. Natig Ibrahimov, Rector of Lankaran State University, Ilham Madatov, PhD of Historical Science, rector of Azerbaijan Tourism and Management University, Elkhan Mikayilov, Head of Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency Administration noted the significance of the forum dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the great leader Heydar Aliyev. It was recognised that guaranteeing food security is a paramount priority for the country, emphasising the importance of coordinating collaborative training initiatives and fostering partnerships between higher education institutions and companies.

Amin Mousavi Khaneghah, professor at the Waclaw Dabrowski Institute of Agricultural and Food Biotechnology – State Research Institute of Poland and research professor of ASOIU, made a presentation on “Food science in Azerbaijan”.

Then the speakers made reports: Prof. Hasil Fataliyev, the head of the Department of Food Engineering and expertise of Azerbaijan State Agrarian University presented “Nutrition and health problems of modern man”, Ahad Nabiyev, professor of University of Technology of Azerbaijan “Functional food-a guarantee of Health”, Eyyub Huseynov, chairman of the board at Independent Consumers Union, “the role of public control in ensuring food safety”, Vugar Salimov, Director of the Scientific Research Institute of Viticulture and Winemaking “Agrobiological and agronomic basis of ecologically clean and dry grape production”, Tahir Amiraslanov, the president of the National Culinary Association of Azerbaijan and the World Islamic Culinary Association “Fundamentals of the psychophysiological impact of nutrition on a person, changing consciousness”, Vugar Mikayilov, ASOIU professor, “Organic drinks”, Mikayil Maharramov, professor of Lankaran State University “Accumulation of toxic metals in plant products and their impact on human health”.

During his speech at the forum, Prof. Fariz Amirov, Head of the Organic Substances and Technology of High-Molecular Compounds Department, expressed his appreciation for the significance of every topic discussed and extended his gratitude to all the conference participants.

At the conclusion of the event, the speakers were honoured with certificates of appreciation as a gesture of gratitude for their valuable contributions to the forum.
