On September 15 Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held an event on the occasion of the start of 2017/2018 academic year and “Day of knowledge”. The event was attended by Rector of ASOIU Professor Mustafa Babanli, honored guests member of parliament Hikmat Babaoghlu, Director of ANAS Institute of Philosophy and Law Ilham Mammadzade, as well as university academic staff members and students.
Rector of ASOIU Professor M. Babanli congratulated the students on the occasion of the “Day of knowledge” and announced the admission results for 2017/2018 academic year.
“We have high admission rate for this year as well. I could even say that there haven't been such high results before. Thus, we have 2620 people admitted to Bachelor’s degree, 512 to Master’s degree and 225 to the Industrial Enterprises Staff Development and Retraining Institute (SMIIYI). 200 foreign citizens have become the student of ASOIU, according to initial calculations. Hence, the total number of students admitted to ASOIU is above 3500. Of Bachelor’s degree students 292 gained over 600 points, while around 1000 scored at least 500. One student has been awarded the Presidential Scholarship. The average score accounts for 439 points.” – said Rector of ASOIU Professor M. Babanli.
Rector M. Babanli noted that the most significant mission of the university is to provide high-quality education for the students admitted to ASOIU with high results, emphasizing that certain works are currently being accomplished in this direction.
Director of ANAS Institute of Philosophy and Law I. Mammadzade congratulated the students on the occasion of the “Day of knowledge” and made a speech on “Heydar Aliyev is the founder of the idea of Islamic Solidarity”.
MP Hikmat Babaoghlu wished the students success in the education process and congratulated them for choosing AzII, an institution that has trained world-renowned oil leaders who play an important role in Azerbaijan’s science history. “I am confident that ASOIU will continue to train skillful personalities and oil workers as AzII’s famous alumni”. – said H. Babaoghlu.
The first-year students admitted to ASOIU with highest scores received student IDs and gifts. At the end of the event, the groups with best academic results for spring examination session of 2016/2017 academic year were awarded.
