From December 11th to 16th, the "ASOIU 1" and "ASOIU 8" teams of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) participated in the semi-final stage of the "48th ICPC International Collegiate Programming Contest" and the "South Caucasus Open Championship" held in the city of Kutaisi, Georgia.
Twenty teams from 15 higher education institutions in Azerbaijan, each consisting of 3 students and a team leader, participated in the competition. The team leader from ASOIU was Elviz Ismayilov, a lecturer at the Department of General and Applied Mathematics and the team members were Narmin Mammadova, a 3rd-year student specializing in "Computer Engineering" at the SABAH Center; Farid Ismayilov, Ahmad Ismayilzade, Aliyev Ali, 4th-year students specializing in "Information Security" at the SABAH Center; and Namik Abilov, Saddam Hasanov, 3rd-year students specializing in "Computer Science."
During the competition, the teams were given 12 algorithmic problems to solve within 5 hours using the programming languages "C," "C++," "Java," or "Python." The "ASOIU 1" team successfully participated in the semi-final stage of the "48th ICPC International Collegiate Programming Contest" and received an "Honorable Mention" certificate. Additionally, Narmin Mammadova and Ahmad Ismayilzade were awarded a "Certificate of High Achievement" in the individual competition of the "South Caucasus Open Championship."
