On April 24, the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held its regular Academic Board meeting. As per tradition, Acting Rector of ASOIU, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov, announced and discussed the daily agenda items with the board members, which were subsequently approved.

During the meeting, Elviz Ismayilov, Director of the Digital Development and Innovation Center, provided insights into the activities of the Student Scientific Society. Associate Professor Hamlet Huseynov, the Director of the Industrial Enterprises Staff Development and Retraining Institutes, presented on the practicum of the professor-teaching staff and the organization of retraining. Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Associate Professor Ilham Rustamov, delivered a presentation on the annual activities of the faculty. Scientific Secretary, Associate Professor Narmina Aliyeva, informed the board members about the candidates for professorship and associate professorship whose documents will be submitted to the Supreme Attestation Commission.

During the Academic Board meeting, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov discussed future initiatives aimed at enhancing teaching and education at ASOIU. He emphasized that the development of education and scientific achievements, as well as the advancement of the university's international ranking, formation as a research university, and other important matters, should always be the focus of attention.

Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov highlighted the importance of hosting COP29 in Azerbaijan this year and declaring 2024 as the "Green World Solidarity Year". It was noted that concrete projects and programs related to the declaration of the "Green World Solidarity Year" and the hosting of COP29 in Azerbaijan are being implemented at the university. Several events have already been held in this direction, and important projects are planned to be implemented by the end of the year.

After discussing the daily agenda items with the board members, unanimous decisions were made. Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov expressed his opinions and suggestions on the matters discussed and assigned tasks for future work.
