On May 29, the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry (ASOIU) and the Western Azerbaijan Community jointly organized a scientific-practical conference titled "Western Azerbaijan."
The event began with the National Anthem, followed by a moment of silence to honour the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
In his opening speech, ASOIU Acting Rector, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov, emphasized the importance of conveying the truths about Western Azerbaijan to the world and promoting historical facts among the youth. Speaking about the mass deportation of Azerbaijanis from the territory of Armenia and the restoration of their rights on the international stage, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov emphasized the significance of the community's efforts in studying and promoting the rich historical and cultural heritage created by the Azerbaijani people. He noted the importance of continuing extensive work in this direction.
Member of Parliament and Deputy Chairman of the Western Azerbaijan Community Youth Council, Kamal Jafarov, noted that May 29 marks the anniversary of Western Azerbaijan being given to Armenians, emphasizing the importance of holding such an event among the youth on this day.
Anar Irzaguluyev, responsible for youth work at the Western Azerbaijan Community's Office, and Doctor of Historical Sciences, Vasif Gafarov, discussed the historical roots of the truths about Western Azerbaijan, political processes, and efforts to raise awareness of these truths worldwide. The event also highlighted the importance of preparing historical documents regarding the truths of Western Azerbaijan in various languages and sending them to the governmental bodies of all influential countries and international organizations. It was emphasized that exposing Armenia's occupation policy with references to various archives on a scientific level is crucial. Following Azerbaijan's victory in the Patriotic War, it was noted that these historical facts and the truths about Western Azerbaijan would be more dynamically disseminated worldwide.
