On May 30, an event titled "TİPx: How to Build an Inclusive Society?" was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) by the Central Career Branch of the State Employment Agency of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population within the framework of the "Student Development Platform" (TİPx).
During the opening speech, Professor Latafat Gardashova, ASOIU's Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, and Ulvi Abasguliyev, Deputy Chairman of the Managing Board of the Azerbaijan Public Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, discussed the principles of an inclusive society, drawing attention to the 10th goal of sustainable development adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, which focuses on reducing inequality.
The conference featured speakers such as Nigar Sultanova, a social entrepreneur and founder of "DanceAbility Azerbaijan" - an inclusive dance company; Aydin Khalilov, chairman of the Independent Living Center for People with Disability PU and an expert on disability issues; PhD Gulshan Eminova, senior teacher at Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and expert on inclusive education programs at the Regional Development Public Union, and students.
In an interactive format, speakers discussed the fundamental principles of inclusive society and the main directions of social cohesion and mutual activity. They also provided detailed information on topics such as working with people with special needs, gender issues, creating opportunities for effective integration of persons with disabilities into society, learning and applying advanced international experiences in inclusive community building, continuous support for increasing the potential of educational institutions, and other related matters, followed by discussions. Finally, questions from students were answered.
