The admissions process for the 2024/2025 academic year is ongoing for the international Dual Degree Program jointly conducted by Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) and the University of Warwick.
This program opens new opportunities for Azerbaijani education and science, offering a unique curriculum backed by a long-term partnership with Warwick University, ranked 69th in the QS World University Rankings for 2025. Fully funded by ASOIU, this program allows students to study free of charge.
Focused on “Renewable Energy” at the master's level, the program aims to prepare a new generation of specialists in renewable energy by utilizing cutting-edge scientific advancements and innovative teaching methods. It provides academic and technical contributions to Azerbaijan's clean energy transition. Essentially, this program brings top-tier British education to Azerbaijan without requiring students to leave the country.
The program, taught by the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), consists of eight modules and corresponding coursework offered by Warwick, along with six courses from ASOIU, and a dissertation. Successful students will earn dual master's degrees from both universities.
Students enrolled in this program will have the unique opportunity to visit leading renewable energy sites in the UK during a 35-day Summer School, including solar panel farms and wind turbine operating zones, as well as companies associated with the sector. It is important to note that all travel and visa costs, as well as accommodation and meals, will be fully covered by ASOIU. During the Summer School, courses on "Energy Systems Integration" and the "UK Renewable Energy Sector" will be offered. Additionally, the curriculum includes visits to historical landmarks, museums, and various cultural activities.
The world-class faculty involved in this educational program will equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to gain a competitive edge in the rapidly growing sector, while also preparing them to play a key role in the country's transition to a carbon-free clean energy future.
Admission Requirements:
- IELTS score of 6.5 (minimum 6.0 in each component)
- A 2-minute video application showcasing the candidate’s motivation, personal qualities, communication, and creativity
- Minimum score of 50 on the 2024 State Examination for master's program admission
