On September 25, the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), Professor Latafat Gardashova, met with university deans and department heads.
The meeting focused on the current state of research activities, discussing future prospects and planned initiatives in this direction. Professor Latafat Gardashova emphasized that the university aims to establish itself as a "National Research University" and stressed the importance of continuously prioritizing both academic achievements and scientific progress within the faculties and departments. She also highlighted the need to further enhance efforts to increase the ranking of ASOIU’s journals included in international databases.
The discussion touched on implementing projects aimed at enhancing the research skills of women and girls working in the field of science at ASOIU, as well as informing students about various grants and scholarships in the scientific field. Additionally, it was noted that Azerbaijan has been designated as the "World Capital of Women and Girls in Science" for one year (September 2024 – September 2025) by the Royal Academy of Science International Trust (RASIT), a non-governmental organization.
