On October 1, a seminar was held at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) with the participation of members of the Public Council under the Ministry of Energy.
Organized by the ASOIU Faculty of Power Engineering and the Public Council under the Ministry of Energy, the seminar, held within the framework of the "Green World Solidarity Year," covered topics such as COP29, Renewable Energy Sources, and “What COP29 promises for the energy sector". The seminar was attended by Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Latafat Gardashova, Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Energy Shaban Nasirov, Secretary Samir Hasanov, member Sadig Hasanov, faculty members, and students.
Greeting the participants, the Dean of the Faculty of Energy, Assoc. Prof. Aydin Aliyev, emphasized that the unanimous decision to hold such a prestigious event like COP29 in Azerbaijan is a clear demonstration of the international community’s respect and trust in Azerbaijan, as well as an acknowledgment of the country's contributions to environmental protection and combating climate change on national, regional, and global levels.
Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Energy, Shaban Nasirov, provided general information about the purpose of the meeting and spoke about the role of the government’s COP29 and renewable energy policies in enhancing the country’s reputation both domestically and internationally. Public Council Secretary Samir Hasanov delivered a presentation on “Renewable Energy Sources and Electricity, Water Conservation,” and Council member Sadig Hasanov presented on “The Environmental Impact of Thermal Power Plants.”
