ASOIU students represent Azerbaijan at the 75th International Astronautical Congress in Milan

A team of 52 Azerbaijani students, young professionals, and scientists represented Azerbaijan at the 75th International Astronautical Congress in Milan. Among them, 12 students from the SABAH groups and 2 students from the ZU programs at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) successfully showcased the country.

Aligned with the congress theme, “Space Responsibility for Sustainability,” ASOIU students presented scientific research on various topics, including carbon management in microgravity using bioengineered plants, the effects of space on the human body, physiotherapy in space, legal regulations in space, life sciences in space, satellite missions, and Earth observation. 

Supported by Azercosmos' Space Academy, the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, and the State Agency for Science and Higher Education under the Ministry of Science and Education, the national team joined over 11,000 participants from 120 countries. The congress featured 200 technical sessions with approximately 2,400 scientific papers, offering ASOIU students and young scientists the opportunity to engage with international peers and exchange ideas about the future of space.
