The Acting Rector of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), Associate Professor Vazeh Askarov, participated in the 2nd Delta University International Engineering Conference on Research and Innovation (DU-IECRI 2024), held at Delta University of Science and Technology in Egypt on November 23-24.

The conference aimed to showcase engineering research and innovation supporting the major projects aligned with the objectives of the sustainable strategic plan, Egypt Vision 2030. It served as an important scientific platform, bringing together academics, researchers, and industry professionals in the technological and engineering fields.

In his speech, Associate Professor Vazeh Askarov underscored the critical role of engineering education rooted in science and innovation to meet the demands of modern industry. He emphasized the importance of training future engineers as specialists deeply knowledgeable in "green technologies," referencing the 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) recently held in Baku.

DU-IECRI 2024 holds significant importance by focusing on modern engineering applications and addressing real-world challenges through innovative research projects. Conference participants engaged in discussions on current trends in technological development and explored future perspectives.

It is worth noting that on April 26, 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Delta University of Science and Technology and Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University. This agreement aims to expand the strategic partnership between the two educational institutions.
