On December 11, the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) hosted a panel discussion titled “Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijan: From Past to Future”. The event, dedicated to the National Leader's commemoration day, was organized by the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Great Return Public Union, and the National Assembly of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (NAYORA).
The event began with the playing of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan and a minute of silence to honour National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs of the country.
In his opening speech, ASOIU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov, welcomed the participants, highlighted the importance of such events for youth, and discussed the youth policies initiated by the National Leader.
Yusif Valiyev, Head of the Program and Project Management Division of the Youth Foundation; Nail Shukurov, Chairman of the Great Return Public Union; and Nermin Huseynzade, Secretary General of NAYORA, addressed the participants. They reflected on the meaningful life and rich political legacy of Heydar Aliyev.
Later, members of parliament Musa Gasimli, Ceyhun Mammadov, and Mezahir Afandiyev delivered speeches on the topics “The National Leader’s Role in Building Independent Azerbaijan,” “The National Leader’s Contributions to Education,” and “The National Leader’s Youth Policy,” respectively.
The event concluded with a Q&A session where youth questions were addressed, followed by a group photo to commemorate the occasion.
