On December 19, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) hosted a seminar titled “The 29th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) and Its Historic Outcomes.”
Organized by the Faculty of Power Enineering, the seminar began with a welcoming speech by the Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor Aydin Aliyev. He greeted the guests and participants, delivering an in-depth presentation on the achievements resulting from COP29, which was successfully hosted in Azerbaijan.
During his address, Associate Professor Aydin Aliyev highlighted significant advancements made over the two-week conference, including critical agreements related to the Loss and Damage Fund and the conclusion of decade-long negotiations under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement on high-quality carbon markets. He emphasized that Azerbaijan made history at COP29, with the conference being remembered as a pivotal event where effective decisions addressing global climate concerns were unanimously adopted. The event also underscored Azerbaijan's commitment to the "green agenda" in the context of today's multipolar world.
The seminar concluded with a Q&A session, where participants shared their thoughts on COP29's historic achievements and discussed its far-reaching implications.
