On March 18, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) hosted a festive event dedicated to Novruz, organized by the Student Trade Union Committee (THİK).

As part of the celebration, students showcased traditional Novruz trays and a variety of holiday sweets reflecting Azerbaijani national customs and traditions. In his congratulatory speech, ASOIU’s Rector, Associate Professor Rufat Azizov extended his best wishes to the university’s faculty, staff, and students on the occasion of the national holiday.

Emphasizing that Novruz embodies unity and prosperity, Rector Azizov noted that the holiday is now being celebrated across all sovereign Azerbaijani lands. He wished ASOIU’s large academic community and the entire Azerbaijani people peace, abundance, and good health.

The Novruz festivities featured vibrant dance performances by ASOIU’s “Gənclik” Song and Dance Ensemble, entertaining sketches with the holiday’s beloved characters—Kosa and Kechal, various games, and a musical program by the “Dərviş Band”.

The celebration concluded with the lighting of the traditional Novruz bonfire in the university courtyard.
