On April 26, the 4th International Conference on Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) was held in Baku. Opening the event, Anar Malikov, head of the “TCS” company, provided a comprehensive overview of the efforts undertaken in Azerbaijan to improve occupational safety and combat occupational diseases, emphasizing that these initiatives are aligned with international standards.
The conference brought together executives from various enterprises and renowned HSE specialists, who shared their insights on the implementation of modern legislative standards in the field.
Representatives, students, and alumni from the “Industrial Safety and Occupational Protection” Department of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) also actively participated in the conference. In his address, Head of the Department, Professor Sakit Rasulov, noted that over the past three years, the HSE subject has been included in the curriculum of all technical specialties at ASOIU. For this purpose, subject syllabi and textbooks, compliant with international standards and available in both Azerbaijani and English, have been developed. Students who demonstrate high performance in the course are awarded a Level I HSE Certificate.
The conference concluded with an award ceremony. It was highlighted that ASOIU plays a vital role in training young specialists in occupational safety in Azerbaijan, and in recognition of its contributions, the university was honored with a special award.
