On April 28, Professor Franco Cozzani — former Deputy Head of Department at the European Commission and invited lecturer in Plasma and Nuclear Physics at the University of Parma, Italy — visited Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).

During his meeting with ASOIU Rector, Associate Professor Rufat Azizov, the guest expressed his familiarity with the university’s history and its distinguished alumni, and highly appreciated the educational environment and facilities created at the institution.

The meeting featured discussions on advanced research in the field of nuclear energy, the promotion of social responsibility, and future collaboration opportunities, including the organization of seminars, summer schools, and professional development programs for students.

Following the meeting, Professor Cozzani delivered seminars on “Nuclear Fusion Technologies as the Energy Source of the Future” and “Advanced Energy Technologies in Nuclear Fusion and Nuclear Fission.” During the seminars, participants received detailed information on advanced nuclear fission methods, their areas of application, as well as ongoing research and initiatives in Europe and across the world.

The event concluded with a Q&A session, during which participants' questions were answered.
