On May 26, an awareness session titled “Management of Hazardous Chemicals – International Regulations on Storage, Use, and Transportation” was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), organized by the university’s Career Center.
At the event, Professor Sakit Rasulov, Head of the “Industrial Safety and Labor Protection” Department at ASOIU, welcomed the guests and spoke about the relevance of occupational safety and management practices in international contexts. He emphasized the importance of educating young people on the topic.
Dr. Gulchohra Aliyeva, PhD in Environmental Sciences and lecturer at Northern Illinois University (USA), delivered a presentation on international best practices in hazardous chemical management. She provided detailed information on the key legal and regulatory frameworks and safety principles involved in the storage, use, and transportation of such substances.
Following the presentation, participants engaged in discussions based on real-life scenarios, analyzing practical cases and decision-making mechanisms aligned with international standards.
At the end of the session, students who actively participated were awarded certificates.
