ASOIU holds an event dedicated to Constitution Day

On November 10 Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held an event dedicated to the Constitution Day, which is celebrated on November 12.

ASOIU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov expressed congratulations to participants on the occasion of the Constitution Day. Providing information on the history of creating the Constitution, Vice-Rector said the draft Constitution was developed by a special commission under the leadership of great leader Heydar Aliyev and submitted for public discussion. Thus, the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan was adopted on November 12, 1995, with great enthusiasm through a nationwide referendum, thereby laying the foundation for the nation-building of the Republic of Azerbaijan. ASOIU Vice-Rector G. Mammadov stressed that the Constitution, which has higher legal force, also reflects moral values of the Azerbaijani people.   

Head of ASOIU’s Social Studies Department, Professor Jamal Mustafayev noted the highness of the Constitution and talked about its history, essentiality, as well as legal basis. J. Mustafayev noted that the Constitution acts as a guarantor of political stability, social peace and national reconciliation in the country, and our current Constitution is the fourth Constitution of Azerbaijan.

Head of the Department of the Azerbaijani language, Associate Professor Adalat Abbasov characterized November 12 as one of the brightest days in the history of Azerbaijan and emphasized the importance of this day. Noting the position and significance of the Azerbaijani language in the Constitution, Associate Professor A. Abbasov also spoke about the history of adopting the law on the state language.
