Infosession on Innovative Services and Software Held at ASOIU Library Information Center

On December 19, an infosession on the topic "Library 2.0: innovative services and software. Application of Web 2.0 technologies to the library environment" was held with the organization of the Library Information Center of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).

Library heads, employees, and field specialists representing 25 leading universities, academies, and state institutions of the country participated in the event. The main purpose of the infosession was the digitization of libraries in the modern era, the application of innovative service models, the promotion of electronic management systems, as well as the strengthening of experience exchange, knowledge sharing, and the application of artificial intelligence tools among libraries.

The event was opened by Salahat Mahmudova, Director of the ASOIU Library Information Center. Within the framework of the infosession, presentations regarding the integration of the Center's Web 2.0 technologies into the library environment were demonstrated. During the presentations, detailed information was provided about the library's innovative services, applied software, digital library and electronic management system, as well as the online seat reservation system for reader-users, and participants' questions were answered.

Speaking at the event, Associate Professor Elviz Ismayilov, acting Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation at ASOIU, noted the increasing role of libraries as one of the main pillars of innovation and digital transformation in the scientific environment. Nasiba Amirbayova, Advisor to the ASOIU Rector on Social Issues, emphasized the importance of modern libraries forming not only as an information space but also as a knowledge and innovation platform.

In their speeches, Associate Professor Nadir Ismayilov, Head of the Document Management Department at BSU, Associate Professor Elchin Mammadov, Director of the ADA Library, and Associate Professor Nigar Ismayilova, Director of the Scientific Library of BSU, drew attention to the importance of developing library services based on digital solutions and modern technologies.

In the second part of the event, a question-and-answer session was held with the active participation of the attendees, extensive discussions were conducted around the presented projects, suggestions were voiced, and future cooperation opportunities between libraries were evaluated. The infosession was assessed as a significant platform in terms of professional knowledge and experience exchange.
