A scientific seminar titled “Extension of Fuzzy Implication and its Application” will be held at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU). The seminar will be delivered by Professor Latafat Gardashova, Doctor of Technical Sciences and a professor at the Department of Computer Engineering.
The seminar will focus on advanced approaches for handling uncertainty and imprecision in modern decision-making systems. In many real-world applications, decision-making processes rely on information that is incomplete, uncertain, or partially reliable. Traditional logical systems based on binary values such as true or false are not sufficient for modeling such complex environments. During the seminar, special attention will be given to fuzzy logic approaches and their limitations when dealing with imperfect information. The presentation will introduce Z-numbers and Z-fuzzy relations, a mathematical framework that integrates both imprecision and reliability of information within a unified model. The talk will also discuss the extension of fuzzy implication, Z-implication models, and approximate reasoning methods based on Z-rules. These approaches provide new possibilities for reasoning with uncertain information and may support more human-like decision-making processes.
Applications of these methods in decision-making systems, data analysis, intelligent control systems, and medical or engineering applications will also be discussed.
Professor Latafat Gardashova is a prominent Azerbaijani computer scientist and an Honored Scientist of the Republic of Azerbaijan. She holds the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences and has authored numerous scientific works, including monographs, textbooks, and more than 200 research articles. Her research focuses on intelligent control systems, fuzzy logic, and decision-making under uncertainty.
The seminar is intended for undergraduate and graduate students, academic staff, and researchers interested in data science, artificial intelligence, and decision-making systems.
