A 1-year training program Carl Friedrich Goerdeler Kolleg for Good Governance will kick off in Germany on September 13. The program conducted in cooperation with the Robert Bosch Stiftung and the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) addresses young committed executives from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Moldova, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine. The goal of the program is to support individuals who want to actively shape their societies, to make it possible for them to share their experiences in Europe, to strengthen responsible, socially oriented behavior in changing societies.
Over the course of the year, participants will take part in three seminars and implement a Good Governance project in their home country. Prof Günter Verheugen, former Vice-President of the European Commission will monitor the training program as Director of the Kolleg.
In the frames of the program, participants gain advanced knowledge and competencies in Good Governance and Innovation Management, receive exclusive insight into German and European organizations, connect with experts from European politics, economics and society, hone their leadership skills and obtain new ones on project management, implement a Good Governance project in their home country with the support of experienced project managers, become a part of an international network of young European leaders.
Last year Azerbaijan was represented by Jamila Ismayilzada, head of the International Cooperation Office at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU). Her project was to establish the Alumni and Career Center at ASOIU. J. Ismayilzada listened to the reports of Potsdam University professors in the first term of the Kolleg (September trainings). She took part in meetings with German Parliament members, joined intensive trainings on project management by professional project managers. In the frames of the program, J. Ismayilzade has been to Berlin TU and Berlin FU Career centers. She has obtained comprehensive information on the activity of the Career centers and at the same time gave information about exhibitions and trainings of the Alumni and Career Center.
Participation in the Goerdeler Kolleg for Good Governance is free of charge. The Robert Bosch Stiftung covers the cost of the seminars and selection interviews (including travel to and from the venues, visa, accommodation, and meals).
