Another article prepared by scientists of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) within the framework of international scientific cooperation has been published in a prestigious scientific journal.
The results of the research conducted by Associate Professor Gultar Nasibova, senior lecturers Allahverdi Tagiyev, Shura Ganbarova and Sevil Zeynalova of ASOIU’s Department of Oil and Gas Geology, together with researchers from Azerbaijan State University of Economics and Atatürk University, have been published in “Energies”, a journal indexed in the Scopus database and included in the Q1 quartile, with an impact factor of 3.2.
The article titled “Optimization and Control-Based Modeling of Oil Field Development in the Lower Kura Depression: A Case Study of the Kurovdagh Field” is dedicated to the optimization of the development of the Kurovdagh oil field located in the Lower Kura Depression.
The study analyzes the geological and production indicators of the field using statistical process control methods, including Shewhart control charts. The article evaluates parameters such as oil production, water cut indicators, injected water volumes, and well productivity across various productive horizons. This approach provides significant scientific results in terms of identifying changes in the production process, analyzing water breakthrough processes, and ensuring more efficient field management.
The article also proposes various technological approaches to enhance oil recovery across productive horizons. According to the research findings, the application of methods such as polymer flooding, micellar waterflooding, and in situ combustion for different horizons may contribute to increasing the oil recovery factor.
The results of the study have practical significance for improving production efficiency in mature oil fields, gaining a deeper understanding of reservoir behavior, optimizing production systems, and ensuring long-term field management.
