The QS Africa Forum, attended only by ASOIU from Azerbaijan, has concluded

“QS Africa Forum 2026”, held on 9–10 July in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, has concluded. Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University participated in the forum as the only university representing Azerbaijan.

ASOIU was represented at the event by Ulviyya Abbasova, Advisor to the Rector on Rankings; Khulya Sabirli, Head of the Public Relations and Marketing Department; and Chingiz Garayev, Senior Specialist of the Rankings Department.

On the second and final day of the forum, discussions continued on global development trends in higher education, international rankings, sustainable development, the social impact of universities, research and innovation opportunities, as well as prospects for inter-university cooperation. During the event, the ASOIU delegation held meetings with representatives of universities and organizations from different countries and provided information about the university’s academic programs, international relations, research opportunities, and achievements in global rankings.

During the event, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University was presented with a certificate in recognition of its placement in the 711–720 band in the QS World University Rankings 2026.

It should be noted that “QS Africa Forum 2026” brought together university leaders, higher education experts, industry representatives, and decision-makers from various countries around the world, serving as an important platform for exchanging views on the future of higher education, global cooperation, and sustainable development.
