On December 18 Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held a voluntary blood donation campaign at its health center in order to help patients with thalassemia. Along with ASOIU academic and administrative staff, students also volunteered to take part in the blood donation campaign and joined this humanist campaign to help people in need of blood.

The special medical team, assigned by the Central Blood Bank of the Scientific Research Hematology and Transphysiology Institute named after Bahadir Eyvazov, identified each donor’s health on the spot and took a blood test to see whether they were healthy to donate their blood.

Notably, collected blood will be checked and used in the treatment of thalassemia patients.
