ASOIU students participate in internship program at the space centre in UAE

Eleven students from Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) took part in an internship program at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The program, organized by the Space Academy under "Azercosmos" and supported by the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, involved a total of 15 Azerbaijani students.

Participants included undergraduate students from the SABAH Groups project under the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, as well as students from the National Aviation Academy, specializing in space and aerospace engineering, artificial intelligence, STEM fields, and other technical disciplines. Graduates of the "Technest" scholarship program also took part.

The internship concluded with a visit to the Museum of the Future, offering students insights into how technological innovations can shape humanity's future. Upon completion, participants received special certificates and graduated from the program.

During the week-long program, the students participated in practical training sessions under the guidance of MBRSC experts, addressing technical challenges and research tasks. They explored a wide range of topics, including space and aerospace analogue systems, information security, computer and electronic engineering, and astronaut training. The program aims to inspire the next generation of space scientists and engineers, contributing to the global advancement of scientific and technological expertise.

Established in 2006, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre serves as the incubator for the UAE's National Space Program. The centre is responsible for the development and operation of Earth observation satellites, providing image services, analysis, and research data for global scientific communities. Among the centre's notable achievements are the "DubaiSat-1" and "DubaiSat-2" satellites. Additionally, the centre led the first Arab mission to Mars—the "Emirates Mars" mission—which reached Mars' orbit in 2021, aiming to collect significant scientific data on the planet’s atmosphere.
